Tips on choosing the right garden armchair or rattan sun lounger for your needs

1. Determine your garden's sun exposure

If you have a well-shaded garden, you might want to choose outdoor lounge chairs that are designed for sunbathing and will usually have a recliner function. If your garden gets plenty of sun throughout the day, consider opting for shadier pieces that won’t become too hot to handle, perhaps a piece with an integrated parasol holder or canopy.

2. Consider the space you have available

When shopping forΒ outdoor furniture, make sure to measure the area where your garden chairs or sun loungers will be placed and assess whether or not there is enough space for everyone to sit comfortably without overcrowding the space.

3. Research the materials

Different types of materials each offer different benefits when it comes to comfort and durability so its important to do some research before making any purchases so you know what works best in your climate and environment.

For example some sun loungers are made of a mesh material which is great next to the pool but not as comfortable as a cushioned rattan sun lounger.

Garden dining chairs constructed with aluminium frames are significantly better than those constructed of normal steel, as they're sturdy, lightweight and rust resistant.

4. Evaluate seating position

For maximum comfort, look at how each rattan garden chair or lounger sits against its frame, as this can significantly impact the ergonomics of a chair and how good it feels once its sat on (elevated legs are usually more comfortable!). Rattan garden recliner chairs are great options because you can get the best of all seating positions. Check out our NevadaΒ Lounger setΒ which offers exactly that!

5. Test out various styles before buying if you can

Don’t forget to check out different sizes and shapes of patio chairs to determine what works best with existing dΓ©cor pieces in your garden as well as your own personal preferences!
